According to Global Good News, a recent study in London proved that an ingredient in curry can kill esophageal cancer cells. Scientists think that one day this might serve as an anti-cancer treatment. The ingredient has been shown to kill the cancer cells within twenty four hours. Each year 500,000 people die of esophageal cancer so if this ingredient can be used to save people that would be absolutely amazing to save that many lives. People who develop this cancer usually do not survive the first five years so having this curry ingredient would be very beneficial to modern day medicine.

Japan Warship Hits Other Ship
I read an article today about a Japanese warship hitting a South Korean ship. Fires occurred on both ships after the two collided and three crew members were injured. The ships actually collided under a bridge in the Kanmon Strait. The strait was impassable for a few hours after the collision but is now open to ships. Ship members are currently being questioned to figure out why the ships collided in the first place. Defense Minister Toshimi Kitazawa called a conference shortly after to say that they were sorry for the collision of the ships and will find out what caused the collision in the first place.

Another Part of Trafficking
Another article that I read on trafficking talked about how the trafficking market in Thailand is more profitable than the drug market there. The trafficking market according to this article makes about twelve million dollars a year. Not sure how you feel about that but it's pretty astounding to me. This article talks about Thailand being a major hotspot for trafficking. It also says how people who are not legal citizens of Thailand have a much greater chance of being trafficked. The part of this article that stood out to me was the horrid statistic of seventy percent of eight hundred families have sold a daughter into prostitution. This really makes me wonder how bad the people of the country are struggling to sell their own children to make money.
Trafficking in Thailand
In an article I recently read on HumanTrafficking.org a current global issue was discussed. Human trafficking for sex and labor has become a big issue around the world. This article talked about how a possible cause of trafficking is the countries debt. This article primarily talk about how women are more the targeted gender of traffickers. The woman are more so used for sex and the men for labor. The article also gave a brief overview how not much is being done by the government to stop it and sadly very few arrests have been made among traffickers.

Sex Trafficking in Turkey part 2
In regards to my first article I think it is horrible the amount of sex trafficking that goes on. It seems to be a very serious issue in foreign countries. It really makes me wonder how a woman could get mixed up in something so horrible as this. I also wonder how people think its okay to do things such as sex trafficking. It's extremely sad that these women are having their bodies sold for sexual favors and have no say in what happens. Something seriously needs to be done about this.
Sex Trafficking in Turkey part 1
I recently read an article about human and sex trafficking in Turkey. It has been said that Turkey has become the largest market of trafficking of women. These women have been forced into prostitution which is making profits of 3.6 billion dollars in the past year. These women are working as sex slaves in Turkey and there about 5,000 women being forced to do so. The article also discusses how the prostitution network make an average of one hundred and fifty dollars per customer. In conclusion it is said that the average woman has around 15 clients a day. However prostitution in Turkey is legal so therefore acts like this are able to continue.

Midterms
I'm sure everyone is not looking forward to midterms, at least I'm not. I had my sociology midterm on Monday which was my first midterm and I did really well. My second midterm is on Sunday for speech. I have a take home midterm for history that is due next Tuesday which is next to impossible. Basically I'm in for a fun week and judging by my first midterm I'm not really nervous or worried about any of my tests. Good Luck to everyone on there midterms!
Air Pollution in China
In the document I read about China and its air pollution problem,I cam along an astounding statistic "Over 400,000 premature deaths a year in China are blamed on air pollution levels. When China wanted to host the 2008 Olympics, China guaranteed "green games", where China went on to find out the they had been named the air pollution capital of the planet. Air pollution has become a big problem there because of the massive amount of people China has. The article also tells us how air pollution has increased by fifty percent in the past ten years."Unless more drastic measures are taken soon, the health costs of the pollution will be paid in China for generations to come." Obviously China has a serious issue to deal with on their hands and if they don't do something soon pollution will continue to get worse and worse.

Say Yes to the Dress
I am obsessed with the show Say Yes to the Dress on TLC. I love watching all the people pick out their dresses and try them on. I would really like to work at a wedding boutique like that one day. The store that the show takes place at is called Kleinfelds. It is in New York City and is absolutely huge. The dresses can be extremely expensive. I would really like to get my wedding dress there but New York is pretty far to go for a wedding dress, however you do only get this experience once in a lifetime. The store and the dresses are so pretty but sometimes the people on the show, the customers, can be really rude, demanding, and impolite. The people like that give the show a twist which is very much needed to keep viewers interested and watching.
Peer Review Most Important Question!
Does the conclusion leave you with something significant or does it seem too abrupt or undeveloped?
This is the question I think is most important. I picked this question because I think that a lot of the time the conclusion is overlooked. People tend to get lazy toward the end. I think the conclusion is just as important as the introduction. In any paper you want the conclusion to leave you with something significant, such as a lesson. If your conclusion doesn't have a lesson or ends with no explanation it leaves the reader confused. Those are the reasons that I picked this question. The conclusion if like the finishing touch on a painting. It can make or break it.

The Chicago Bears
As far back as I can remember my dad has always been a Chicago Bears fan. To this day I am a die hard Bears fan, win or lose, or horrible quarterback, I love them. When I came down here for school I learned that I was one of few Bears fans, it's all about the Colts apparently. I was borned and raised a Bears fan since I live near Chicago and consequently raised to despise the Colts. Every Sunday night me and my roommate, who lives in the same town as me, put on our Bears jerseys and watch the game. If there is any other Bears fans out there let me know!!
A Funny Story
When I was a freshman in high school, I was a cheerleader on the junior varsity squad. I was the only freshman on there which was scary because all the girl were older than I was. Being on junior varsity meant that there was basketball games on Friday right before varsity played. I was walking with two of my friends, who were freshman. As freshman your required to go to all the games so they had to go. I was walking along and forgot that we had a small stair at the bottom of the bleachers that come out onto the wood floor. So I was walking and talking in my uniform paying not attention to where I was going. I tripped and fell flat on my face, right in the middle of half time when the entire boys varsity basketball team was sitting there. They all looked shocked when I fell but as soon as I got up they burst out laughing. This was probably my most embarrasing moment in high school. I look back today though and can't help but laugh.
